November: National Novel Writing Month and Diabetes Awareness
Did you sign-up for NANOWRIMO this year? I signed up for this event for the past 2-3 years. While I’m itching to start on a new story, I’m determined to put to rest older ones. I finalized the edits for my romantic suspense, When Rain Falls, back in September. Now I need to do the same for my cozy mystery, Deep Fried Trouble (DFT). Read a synopsis below:
Widowed EUGEENA PATTERSON throws herself into organizing the neighborhood association, a good opportunity to get to know new neighbors like recently widowed Amos Jones, until she stumbles upon her estranged neighbor’s dead body. Eugeena’s daughter is fingered as a prime suspect, but where is she?
Determined to find her missing daughter, Eugeena and Amos sort through a list of neighbors with shady or unknown backgrounds. The more she searches, the more Eugeena becomes unsure about this neighborhood association idea. Someone closer than Eugeena thinks, wants to keep it that way.
My main character in DFT has diabetes and November happens to be Diabetes Awareness Month. While I develop the final draft for this character, I will also be gathering my research on diabetes. I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do with it yet, but I know it will come in handy down the line. I’ve learned a lot of good tips from marketing buddies.

I’m not officially participating in NaNo, but I’m challeneging myself to write 8000 words a week. That may not seem like a lot to some people, but I tend to write really slow so it’s a stretch a for me. Maybe next year I’ll take the NaNo plunge officially.
That’s great, Sharon! How are you doing so far? I have to say even though I’m editing, I’m still off track. LOL!
