My Top Ten Reads for 2007

Okay, it’s New Year’s Eve. I’m personally looking forward to 2008. I love this time of the year. Not only for the holidays, but also for the time of reflection. I can’t say I accomplished most of my goals, but God pulled in a few surprises. That’s the way He works and I’m grateful for another year. As I write my last journal entry for the 2007 tonight, I hope to see some growth. I’m looking forward to writing new goals for 2008. Read more

Revision & Self-Editing

revisionediting_thumb1  A few days ago when I was reading James Scott Bell’s newsletter, he mentioned a book release in 2008 that caught my attention. James Scott Bell, a novelist, is well known for his Plot & Structure book written for Writer’s Digest. Well, he’s coming out with another book for Writer’s Digest, titled Revision & Self-Editing. I’m definitely going to be on the lookout for this one – in fact, I’ve already added the book to my Amazon wish list. The book will be released May 2008.

Speaking of Bell, I’m almost finished with Try Dying and I love the Ty Buchanan character. No, not because we share the same name (Ty being my nickname), but the characterization and storyline is incredible as far as suspense novels go. Lookout for my review over the holidays. With some time off, I’m hoping to catch up on reading and writing.

I definitely need to do better in 2008. Do me a favor? The first step towards publishing a book is to complete a manuscript. Of course! Well, feel free to inquire about my progress as I work towards a final draft in 2008! I have three manuscripts started and one of them will be completed! :-)
