Found quite a few writing craft and publishing industry blog posts this week.
Writing Cozy Mysteries Workshop Starts July 13th
I’ve taken class via the Orange County Chapter of Romance Writers of America (RWA). I’ve really enjoyed them and have referred back to my notes on various occasions. One of my manuscripts is the first novel in a cozy mystery series, so I’m looking forward to signing up for this class in July. Check it out! — Ty
Off the Wall and a Thriller
This blog is mainly about my writing journey and lately marketing for authors. I had to take a minute just to extend my prayers to the Jackson family. I’m watching various news programs about Michael Jackson as I write this, still a bit stunned by his death. Age 50 is still relatively young.
With the “3” deaths this week, Ed McMahon, Farah Fawcett and the totally unexpected death of Michael Jackson, it certainly is making me pause in the midst of my busyness. I think what’s making me pause is how all three of these celebrities touched lives during there allotted times on earth.
Out of the three, no doubt growing up, Michael Jackson touched my life the most. I don’t mind saying he was probably my first crush.
I don’t listen to a lot of secular music at this season in my life, but I still enjoy, I guess what others would call old school music. Some of my favorite songs ever are from the “Off the Wall” and “Thriller” albums by Michael Jackson. There are a ton of memories from each season of my life I can associate with Michael.
He will clearly be missed. I truly pray this beloved man-child is resting in perfect peace.

BOOK REVIEW | The Someday List
The Someday List
by Stacy Hawkins Adams
Rachelle Covington lives the kind of lifestyle that most women can only dream about. She’s married to a handsome surgeon, has two beautiful children and a gorgeous home. As a stay-at-home mom, she’s able to be there for her children and her husband, but Rachelle feels like something is still missing. As her husband, Gabe, prepares for a mission trip to Africa, she spills her “hidden” frustrations out on him. Unknown to Gabe, Rachelle’s concerns began with a disturbing correspondence from the past. Without anyone’s knowledge, Rachelle sets off to visit her college friend, Jillian, not knowing what to expect.
Writing Column on RAWSistaz Literary Group
This year I took a bit of a break from my manuscripts. I didn’t intend to, but I’ve spent the year mainly writing articles. I enjoy writing nonfiction especially how to types of articles. My writing craft articles can be found on Urban Christian Fiction Today and marketing articles on Shades of Romance Magazine.
This month, with the launch of the newly redesigned RAWSistaz (Reading and Writing Sistaz), my writing craft articles will be available to a wider audience. A big thanks to Tee C. Royal, founder of the RAWSistaz Literary Group for the opportunity.
I’ve been coordinating quite a few blog tours this summer, but writing is definitely on the horizon. Be on the lookout for more articles and a sneak peek at my characters.
They’re starting to talk again. Time to get busy with research and storytelling.
